Saint Mary, Our Lady of Peace-Patron Saint of El Salvador (Feast Date:  November 21)

Extract from Our Lady of Peace: “Tradition has it that some time in 1682 some merchants found an abandoned box on the shore of Salvador’s “Mar del Sur.” They were unable to open the box. As it was tightly closed and sealed, they surmised that it contained something of value, and decided to take it to the City of San Miguel where they would find out how to open it. They tied the box on a donkey’s back and undertook the long and dangerous journey to the city where they arrived on November 21, meaning to inform the local authorities of their find. But when they went by the parish church, now a cathedral, the donkey lay down on the ground. They were then able to open the box and were surprised to find that it contained a lovely image of Our Lady holding the Child.” See also: Prayer for the Immaculate Queen of Peace.

Saint Mary,Our Lady Queen of Peace, Patrons Saint of Peace (Feast Date: July 9)

Extract from Our Lady of Međugorje Profile The Roman Catholic Church has declared that it cannot be affirmed that the reported apparitions are supernatural in character. A letter written by Archbishop Tarcisio Bertone, Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, on March 23, 1996, reaffirms that official “pilgrimages to Medjugorje, understood as a place of authentic Marian apparitions, are not permitted to be organized either on the parish or on the diocesan level, because that would be in contradiction to what the Bishops of former Yugoslavian affirmed in their aforementioned declaration. And the fruits of pilgrimages to Medjugorje have been many – conversions, new vocations, healing, etc.  See the picture of Our Lady of Medjugorje.

Saint Mary Queen of Peace, Patron Saint of War victims and Civilians (Feast date : July 9th)

Extract from Saint Mary Queen of Peace: “Our Lady of Peace or Queen of Peace is a title of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Roman Catholic Church. She is represented in art holding a dove and an olive branch, symbols of peace. Her official memorial feast is celebrated on January 24 each year in Hawaii and some churches in the US. Elsewhere, the memorial feast is celebrated on July 9. When the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary founded the Hawaii Catholic Church, they consecrated the Hawaiian Islands under the protection of Our Lady of Peace. They erected the first RC church in Hawaii to her. Today, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace in Honolulu is the oldest RC cathedral in continuous use in the US. Pope John Paul II consecrated and dedicated the Basilica of Our Lady of Peace of Yamoussoukro to Our Lady of Peace. It is the largest place of worship in Africa. ”
