Saints Cosmas and Damian, Patron Saint of Druggists (Feast Date: September 26)

Extract from Cosmas and Damian: “Brothers, born in Arabia, who had become eminent for their skill in the science of medicine. Being Christians, they were charitable and never took money. At Egaea in Cilicia, they enjoyed the highest esteem of the people. When the persecution under Diocletian broke out, they were apprehended by order of Lysias, governor of Cilicia, they underwent various torments about the year 283. They are patron saints of pharmacists.”

We, at the CTF/SOS DRS have prayed for the intercession of Sts. Cosmas and Damian on behalf of those affected by the following catastrophes:

Drug-Related Violence in Mexico (Spring, 2009) (America)  See World Mission Rosary Intentions: March 30 – April 12, 2009.

That the Lord in His Divine Mercy – through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary – may build up His Kingdom, make these mysteries a reality in our lives, strengthen us in our common mission, and come to the aid of those for whom we pray.
