Saint Jude Thaddeus, Patron of Desperate Cases (Feast Date: October 28th)
Extract from Saint Jude Thaddeus:” Son of Cleophas, who died a martyr, and Mary – who stood at the foot of the Cross and who anointed Christ’s body after death. Brother of Saint James the Lesser. Nephew of Mary and Joseph; blood relative of Jesus Christ and reported to look a lot like him. Jude may have been a fisherman and was an apostle. Wrote the canonical epistle named for him. Preached in Syria, Mesopotamia, and Persia. Healer. Exorcist. Could exorcise pagan idols, which caused the demons to flee and the statues to crumble.”
We, at the CTF/SOS DRS have prayed for the intercession of St. Jude Thaddeus on behalf of those affected by the following catastrophes:
Conflict between the Lord’s Resistance Army and the Ugandan Government in DR Congo (Winter 2009) (Africa) See World Mission Rosary Intentions: January 5, 2009 – January 18, 2009.
That the Lord in His Divine Mercy – through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary – may build up His Kingdom, make these mysteries a reality in our lives, strengthen us in our common mission, and come to the aid of those for whom we pray.
