General Rosary Intention: That the Lord in His Divine Mercy – through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary – may build up His Kingdom, make these mysteries a reality in our lives, strengthen us in our common mission, and come to the aid of those for whom we pray.

Africa (Green Beads)

Intention – That the Lord Jesus through the intercession of St. Adelaide, the Patron Saint of Prisoners, may come to the aid of those affected by terrorist kidnapping of aid workers in Kenya. May the Lord help all those affected by man-made and natural disasters in Africa.

Disaster (Terrorist Kidnapping of Aid Workers) Map of Kenya:Extract from Kenyan police pursuing kidnappers of 4 aid workers: “Somali militants ambushed an aid convoy Friday, killed a Kenyan aid worker and kidnapped four international workers at a Kenyan refugee camp near the border with Somalia, officials said. Kenyan police said they were pursuing the attackers. Four international workers from the Norwegian Refugee Council were kidnapped after gunmen attacked a two-car convoy traveling through the sprawling Dadaab refugee camp, said police official Philip Ndolo. Dadaab hosts nearly 500,000 Somali refugees. The gunmen killed a Kenyan driver for the aid group during the attack, Ndolo said. Earlier reports said one Kenyan driver was also kidnapped but a security official said only the four internationals were in hostage takers’ hands. Ndolo said that police and military security personnel were pursuing the attackers. Kenya deployed troops into Somalia last October, so even if the kidnappers succeed in crossing back into Somalia, they may have to contend with Kenyan troops on the other side of the border.” See also:  Gunmen kidnap aid workers from Kenya camp, driver killed, Aid workers abducted from Kenyan refugee complex. Saint Adelaide: Patron Saint of Prisoners (Feast Date: December 16) Extract from Saint Adelaide: “The daughter of Rudolf II of Burgundy and Bertha of Swabia. She was married at the age of 15, to the son of her father’s rival in Italy, Lothair II, the King of Italy; the union was a political settlement designed to conclude a peace between her father and Hugh of Provence, the father of Lothair. They had a daughter, named Emma of Italy. The Calendar of Saints states that her first husband was poisoned by, his successor, Berengar of Ivrea, who attempted to strengthen his political power by forcing her to marry his son, Adalbert; when she refused and fled, she was found and imprisoned for four months at Como. She escaped to the protection, at Canossa, of Adalbert Atto, where she was besieged by Berengar. She sent an emissary to throw herself on the mercy of Otto the Great of Germany. His brothers were equally willing to save the heiress of Italy. Otto got an army into the field: they met at the old Lombard capital of Pavia and were married in 951; he was crowned Emperor in Rome, 2.2.962 by Pope John XII and, most unusually, she was crowned Empress at the same ceremony. . . . Her husband Otto I died in 973 he was succeeded by their son Otto II, and Adelaide for some years exercised a powerful influence at court. . . . In 995 . . . . Adelaide devoted herself exclusively to works of charity, restoring religious houses. She retired to a monastery she had founded in c. 991 at Selz in Alsace. She never became a nun, she spent the rest of her days there in prayer.” See PICTURE of Saint Adelaide. Oceania (Blue Beads)

Intention – That the Lord Jesus through the intercession of  St. Mary, Our Lady Star of the Sea, the Patron Saint of Mariners, may come to the aid of those affected by the shipwreck near Christmas Island. May the Lord help all those affected by man-made and natural disasters in Oceania.

Disaster: Shipwreck Map of Christmas Island Extract from Boats search for capsize missing: “Rescuers are continuing to search for dozens of people believed to be missing after a boat sank near Christmas Island, off north-western Australia. Ships have so far picked 109 survivors from the sea, but officials believe about 200 people were on the boat. Three bodies have been recovered and an Australian minister said more bodies had been seen in the water. The ship, believed to be carrying asylum-seekers, capsized on Thursday. Christmas Island is closer to Indonesia than Australia, and is targeted by asylum-seekers hoping to get to Australia, often on boats that are over-loaded and poorly maintained. . . . A navy boat has brought the survivors to Christmas Island, where Australia has a large immigration detention centre. They are said to be undergoing medical checks there, with three taken to hospital. Australia’s Home Affairs Minister Jason Clare has told local media that most of the men were from Afghanistan. He also said that a surveillance plane has spotted more bodies in the water, but no more survivors so far. . . . ‘We need to brace ourselves for more bad news. Potentially, many more people have lost their lives.’. . .  About 40 people were found clinging to the hull of the boat and more were found holding on to debris, Mr Clare said. . . . ‘This accident again underscores the dangerous nature of these hazardous journeys, and the desperate and dangerous measures people will resort to when they are fleeing persecution in their home countries,’” See also: Ship with about 200 aboard capsizes off Australia,

Saint Mary, Our Lady Star of the Sea: Patron Saint of Mariners (Feast Date: Second Sunday in May) Extract from  Extract from Our Lady, Star of the Sea: “Our Lady, Star of the Sea is an ancient title for the Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus Christ. The words Star of the Sea are a translation of the Latin title Stella Maris, first reliably used with relation to the Virgin Mary in the ninth century. The title was used to emphasize Mary’s role as a sign of hope and as a guiding star for Christians. Under this title, the Virgin Mary is believed to intercede as a guide and protector of those who travel or seek their livelihoods on the sea. . . .See picture of Our Lady, Stella Maris. Europe (White Beads)

Intention – That the Lord Jesus through the intercession of St.Viviana,  the Patron Saint of Torture Victims, may come to the aid of those affected by torture at  black sites in Poland.
May the Lord help all those affected by man-made and natural disasters in Europe.

Disaster (Black Site Torture) Map of Poland Extract from: Poland shaken by case alleging an illicit CIA prison there: “ For years, the idea seemed unthinkable, absurd. A secret U.S. detention center in a remote corner of Poland, where Al Qaeda suspects were brutally interrogated by the CIA? About as likely as “the Loch Ness monster,” is how one Pole described it recently. That monster is now rearing its head. . . . Evidence that a foreign power was allowed to conduct illicit activities on Polish soil has deeply shaken many Poles’ faith in the United States and in Poland’s sense of itself as a successful democracy born from the ashes of the Cold War. The prosecutors’ investigation centers on a Polish military garrison that allegedly hosted a CIA ‘black site’ where foreign detainees were subjected to internationally condemned interrogation techniques, such as waterboarding, during 2002 and 2003. The suspects — including Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the self-professed mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks — had either been arrested or snatched under the United States’ “extraordinary rendition” program and questioned abroad to avoid American legal standards for interrogations, prosecutors say. The allegations have already damaged the reputation of the country that Poles thank for helping them to cast off communist oppression. Many now angrily believe the U.S. took advantage of their gratitude, loyalty and eagerness to please by setting up a torture site that it would never have allowed within its own borders. . . . Poland is not the only country in Europe where the U.S. allegedly operated a secret detention facility with at least tacit permission from somewhere within the host government. Black sites are also thought to have existed in Romania and Lithuania, two other developing democracies, as well as in countries in North Africa and Asia. .” See also: Did the CIA run torture prison ‘black site’ in Poland?  VIDEOS: CIA Torture Secrets: ‘Nazi-like’ Polish black site confession, CIA Wanted ‘Torture’ Cage for Secret Prison: Official.

Saint Viviana: Patron Saint of Torture Victims (Feast Date: December 2) Extract from Saint Bibiana: “Her parents, Saint Flavian of Acquapendente and Dafrosa of Acquapendente, were martyred in the persecution of Julian the Apostate, and Vivian and her sister Demetria were turned over to a woman named Rufina who tried to force her into prostitution. Upon her continued refusal, Vivian was imprisoned in a mad house, then flogged to death. A church was built over her grave, in the garden of which grew an herb that cured headache and epilepsy. This and her time spent with the mentally ill led to her areas of patronage.” See PICTURE of Saint Vivian.  See also: December 2 – Saint Vibiana: Patron Saint of Torture Victims, single lay women, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles; and against Epilepsy, Headaches, Mental Illness and Hangovers. America (Red Beads)

Intention – That the Lord Jesus through the intercession of St. Amabilis, the Patron Saint  against Fire, may come to the aid of those affected by wildfires in Colorado. May the Lord help all those affected by man-made and natural disasters in America.

Disaster (Fires) Map of Colorado, U.S.A. Extract from: Colorado Springs fire destroys at least 346 homes: “At least 346 homes burned when flames raced unchecked into neighborhoods in and around Colorado Springs, making the Waldo Canyon fire the most destructive in the state’s history, officials said Thursday. Evacuation orders have forced more than 32,000 people in or west of the state’s second-largest city from their homes. Local officials held a meeting Thursday evening to tell residents on 35 damaged streets whether their homes were still standing.
Earlier in the day, some evacuees tried to glean bits of information from the Internet. Penny Carroll, who had escaped to the town of Monument two days earlier, pored over an aerial photograph of her ravaged Mountain Shadows neighborhood. That’s when she found what appeared to be a roof — an intact roof. ‘I have a roof. I’m going with that. Oh, thank God,’ Carroll said, allowing joy to enter her voice for the first time since she fled Tuesday afternoon, when she stood on her back deck and watched trees explode into flames as the fire raced over a ridge toward her house. . . .”  See also: Colorado wildfires rage out of control amid triple-digit temps, Raging Colo. Asia (Yellow Beads)

Intention – That the Lord Jesus through the intercession of St. Francis of Assisi,  the Patron Saint of Peace, may come to the aid of those affected by the funeral suicide bombing in Baghdad, Iraq.  May the Lord help all those affected by man-made and natural disasters in Asia.

Disaster: Funeral Suicide Bombing Map of Iraq Extract fromSuicide bomber hits Shiite funeral in Baghdad: “A suicide bomber detonated his explosive-filled taxi near a Shi’ite funeral procession in Baghdad on Friday, killing 31 people and bringing the death toll from violence since an Iraqi political crisis erupted in December to more than 400. The bomber exploded his vehicle near the group of mourners passing by a small market street in the mainly Shi’ite Zaafaraniya neighbourhood in the south of the Iraqi capital, police officials and hospitals said. The Shi’ite-led government often blames Sunni Islamist insurgents for attacks targetting Shi’ites, saying they are trying to stoke the kind of sectarian slaughter which killed tens of thousands of Iraqis at the peak of the war in 2006-2007. ‘I was in the old Zaafaraniya market when a funeral came by and just as it passed, a car bomb exploded,” said Ali Mohsen. “I helped evacuating the dead and injured people, their blood covered the ground.’ The funeral was for a Shi’ite real estate agent who was killed by gunmen in Baghdad a day earlier, police said. The motive for his murder was not clear.” See also: At least 15 dead in Iraqi suicide bombing, Iraq: Suicide bombing kills 15 at Shiite funeral. Saint Francis of Assisi: Patron Saint of Peace (Feast Dates: October 4, October 17) Extract fromPrayer of Saint Francis of Assisi: “Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.” See also: October 4, September 17 – Saint Francis of Assisi: Patron Saint of Peace, Ecology and against Fires.
